Independence Day
A lifetime behind us and the future stretching out beyond the stars of the universe our fore fathers set forth a document declaring all men are created equal and tyranny should never replace liberty. This document along with a blue print for a struggling democracy has survived the ravages of a civil war, two world wars numerous conflicts, attacks upon its own sovereign soil and still continues to echoes its word through out the world. Words such as liberty, justice, freedom, no taxation without representation, government by the people for the people, freedom of assembly, the right to bear arms and own property, freedom of religion……
Words which many have died to keep from becoming obscure or lost represented by a flag with stars and stripes oft referred to as the red white and blue. A simple symbol of the words of our fore fathers who had the vision to form a government to protect the tenets of freedom these words represent. The flag which so proudly flies in a country of free people and is considered around the world to be the symbol of freedom wherever it is seen reaching to the heavens.
We approach this Fourth of July not as jubilant as on previous occasions for I fear the words of our fore fathers have fallen upon hard times. The once proud flag now is tarnished. Burned by some, worn as clothing by others, trampled under foot by nations whom wish to see it replaced with a flag representing tyranny or worse yet a government of religious idolatry.
George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, ………… patriots and visionaries must all be staring down from the heavens and asking what happened to the country which liberty and freedom built? Where does the country of can do versus give to me exist? The United States of America is it doomed to fall into the oblivion of world socialism or will it somehow pull itself up once again and lead the free world? Such as the breeze across the flag of our fore fathers rustles the banner of freedom so to I believe will be this trying time in our history. Too many brave souls have left there blood strewn in countries other than their own to insure the RED, WHITE, and BLUE would forever wave over the land of the free and the home of the brave.
To each and very citizen this fourth of July I offer this challenge read the constitution of our country. Read the declaration of independence. Search within your hearts to feel the words cry out freedom and liberty too precious to be destroyed by bipartisanship and spending out of control. Salute the flag which grants you freedom and liberty and the soldiers who continue the fight of their fallen comrades. The stars and stripes shall cover my casket one day for me as many have earned this special privilege. I pray it will be around when that time comes and it will hold all of the glory it so righteously deserves. Shame on those who have forgotten it basic tenets and hold it in disgust.
To everyone have a safe and happy Fourth!!!
Peace be with you and hold onto those simple truths. All, men are created equal. Liberty and justice for all!!
